Today is my turn to Scribe, and I’m really
excited to: I don’t see how Scribing is bad, it seems pretty fun. Things may
seem weird in my POV, though….so don’t judge how I speak and/or what I see: I
have my OWN opinion on things.
So, as I walked into the classroom, I saw
that the desks in the center of the room was in a circle. It was, actually,
kinda cool. Some of us are a little excited: they elected the Pope just last
class…..yet they don’t know who it is yet. I’m excited too, yet not THAT much.
We didn’t pray, kinda weird….but allowed me
to get right to writing.
Anyway, everyone was busying talking as
Mrs. Gill got situated; some of the things I heard from others were Jes saying
“I’m hot! Someone blow on me!” Oh-kay, then.
We read Noah’s Scribe notes…..not offended
by Noah saying that I comment a lot: I DO, it’s the truth. Other than some randomness, Noah seemed to know what he was talking about.
Mrs. Gill told me to be EXTRA perspective
with the teacher.
Ashley made a comment saying for Austin to
be quiet; for once, I agree with her.
We also read Sam’s Scribe: much different
than Noah’s, just as much of a hectic class.
Anyway, I’ve been listening all over the
class and, so far, I feel a little overwhelmed: trying to write everything I
hear. It's REALLY hard! DX
Anyway, Mrs. Gill wanted us to save and/or
follow the blog; no one could, but I made it a frequently visited URL: I am
gonna read ANY Scribe I can since they are all funny and cool. Hope people like
mine.
I found out something cool: Mrs. Gill has a
FACEBOOK PAGE! I should send her a friend request when I can….I tried KC-uh, I
mean Mrs. Creely….yet she said she couldn’t be friends with student; maybe Mrs.
Gill is different.
After a bit Mrs. Gill passed out a piece of
paper and started explaining about the next assignment: it’s an argumentative
essay on Nature vs. Nurture. We have to explain which we’re more for: nature or
nurture; it can be in personality, criminality, intelligence, anything like
that. I can definitely do something like that……..of course, finding sources
will be hard (luckily, Mrs. Gill said we can use the article she gave us and
Pudd’n’head Wilson as a source). Mrs. Gill encouraged us to choose something
we’re interested to help us with writing. Mrs. Gill also said we can just
plainly argue the question of Nature vs. Nurture, but we must have a solid
thesis and be able to explain the question and which you are for.
When I heard Mrs. Gill say the
phrase “born this way” I thought of the Lady Gaga song “Born this Way”…..random
thing for me to do :\
Looking at the piece of paper, the essay is
due 3/21 by the end of the period; if people are gonna slack off, I suggest to,
at least, work hard on it whenever they DO choose to work on the essay.
Tomorrow we’ll be working on the “Works
Cited” page in class: that’s good, I stink at putting websites into MLA format.
After Mrs. Gill explained everything she
needed to, with the occasional interjection here and there on idea topics,
everyone got to work: there are questions on the back that we’re supposed to
fill out, to help us plan our essay. I’ll get to work on that in a bit: I want
to catch everything that is said.
Jes said that Annie was small, and told
Annie how to not argue it……I don’t follow; I don’t WANT to anyway.
English is the second-to-last class of the
day: I’m, kinda, hoping for time to pass by faster; I’m going to my Grandma’s
house with my dad and sister….then to Best Buy to fix her Kindle and to
GameStop to fix one of my games and get a new PS2. Hopefully things go as
planned and without hitches…..then again, I have this thing that when I have a
good day or something good happens to me, something bad happens and ruins that.
Near the end of the class, when Luke wanted
to ring the bell (like he ALWAYS does) Jes wanted to stop him by covering the
bell with her cup……Luke hit it, hard, and spilled ice out of it. He picked it
up and, while he was doing it, some of the guys was making remarks and
comments. Ugh, gimme a break….
Homework for tonight, unofficially, is to
research topics for the Nature vs. Nurture essay; no homework, really…..but
it’s something that should be decided or be on its way.
