How do I start
off my scribes?
I have the
hiccups, just thought I would say that and let everyone know.
Everyone is
confused about the research paper but Mrs. Gill has tons of confidence in us.
Johnny keeps
talking even though no one is really listening.
Dan keeps saying
scribe notes repeatedly over my shoulder. Shut up.
I just let
Isabella read my scribes so far and she thinks I’m a natural.
Emma is having a
really hard time with her research paper, Emma don’t worry you are not alone.
Now we are going
to read Dan’s scribes.
Mrs. Gill
thought the Taylor Swift concert was good but only liked the part with Ed
Sheeran, she doesn’t like Tay Swift.
We are now
reading Dan’s scribes. They are unedited!
Mrs. Gill is
confused about Dan’s scribes….
I forgot to
mention that Paul came in class earlier. Johnny told me to say Paul is really
cute.
Paul is really
cute.
Isabella just
took my computer and said that I am not a natural at scribes. She is lying.
Class is really
quite today. I guess it’s because Dustin is at the play.
Mrs. Gill told
me to mention that we have a MAJOR test on Friday. So I mentioned it.
Also people who
were at Kairos, our 1-2 pages for the paper is due Friday also.
Mrs. Gill left
but she is back now.
Mrs. Gill says
the test is more than 100 points
If you haven’t
read Puddn’Head Wilson then it is going to be really hard.
She is raving
about her ACC class, even though we are her obvious favorite junior English
class.
Mrs. Gill said
to star something on a worksheet she gave us but I didn’t since I am too busy
scribbin!
Johnny raises
his hand and asks a question.
For the test we
need to contrast the characters in Puddn’Head actions and motivations.
She said to star
something again, but I didn’t. Again.
Mrs. Gill
strongly recommends rereading the end of the story.
If you didn’t
read it at all then she says to read the Sparks Notes version or listen to the
ending of the story.
Interesting fact
(Mrs. Gill thinks it is interesting) - to go over the types of irony for the
test.
Several types of
irony: Verbal. Example: “My, you
are an honest and brave young many.” Dramatic.
When the audience knows something but not the characters in the book. Example: She
knew that Tom was her son, but nobody else knew but the audience. Situational. Example: Roxy tried to save her son from being sold
down the river when he was a baby but in the end of the story he gets sold down
the river anyway.
Scribbin isn’t
too easy.
Mrs. Gill said
something about being spoon fed.
Mrs. Gill is
looking for something, I wonder what?
Johnny is
talking about how Mrs. Gill is dumb. Maybe he was using it as an example of irony?
Annotations and
quiz will help with studying for the part of nature vs. nurture of the test.
Be able to cite
a website for the test. I need to learn
how to do that…
Here it is:
Last, First. “Title.” Website, website owner, date posted. Web. Date
accessed.
My scribes are
boring…but I guess class was just boring today.
Nobody is
talking. They are all writing, which I guess is good for Mrs. Gill but not for
my scribes.
Paulo and Dan
are talking about Jersey Shore. Dan is
talking in an accent.
Apparently Roxy
was raped by Tom’s dad. WOW Mind blown. They were not in a relationship, she never
gave her consent.
Mrs. Gill was
very passionate about giving consent to someone during S-E-X. Go Mrs. Gill!
Mrs. Gill told
us girls to be careful out there.
Mrs. Gill said
duty. Ha, ha.
Kyle just said
it too.
Isabella is
coloring on her test review worksheet and not taking notes. Shame! Hopefully she gets a 100.
Wilson gets
carried away by the identity swap and gets corrupted by the slave attitude in
the town he lives in. He becomes racists and corrupted. That is why it is called a tragedy.
Isabella found out that I outted her and
got mad and tried to take away my computer.
Double shame!
Class is almost over.
Hopefully my scribes are good. I put all my
blood and sweat into them….maybe.
Mrs. Gill thinks that Emma has
perfectionists pitfalls.
We are going to have another research paper
after spring break. Now we have that to
look forward too
Paulo is talking about Stephen Jackson.
Class is over. Lunch time! I am starving.
Peace.
Homework: Paper due tomorrow for people who were not on
Kairos. People who were on Kairos, the
first 1-2 pages of paper is due Friday, finished paper due Monday. For everyone, our test is on Friday!
